With nearly 3 years of experience at Préma-Québec in psychosocial support for families of premature infants, Jean-Philippe is

o Founder of the community of practice for social workers in neonatal units
o Member of the national working committee on fathers and perinatality
o Member of the Regroupement pour la valorisation de la paternité (RVP)
o Father of a very premature baby, born at 30 weeks in 2019
o Social worker with over 16 years of experience in social work with various clients with mental health issues, notably in the emergency department of the Institut universitaire de santé mentale de Montréal (IUSMM)
o Specialized in assessment and brief interventions for adults in crisis situations and experiencing psychological instability
o Member of the Ordre des travailleurs sociaux et des thérapeutes conjugaux et famille du Québec
(OTSTCFQ)

Learning Objectives:

1. Raise awareness among healthcare professionals about the experience of fathers during prematurity.
2. Explain the impact of professional interventions and support on the well-being and involvement of fathers of premature babies.
3. Promote best practices for intervention with fathers in the neonatal unit.
