Chantel Morin - a new collaborator
Chantel is a clinical nurse educator and the leader of the developmental neuroprotective trauma-informed care quality improvement team at the Brant Community Healthcare System for the Family Birthing Centre, NICU and Paediatric Departments. Before this role, she spent 18 years in Ottawa at the Queensway Carleton Hospital in Labour and Delivery, Postpartum and Special Care Nursery. She has also spent many years of clinical teaching with the University of Ottawa and Algonquin College.
She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Ottawa in 2003, an advanced practice specialty certificate from BCIT in 2013. Continuing her lifelong education, she became a certified trauma informed specialist through the Caring Essentials Collaborative in 2021 and completed her Master of Science in Nursing Education from Walden University in 2022. She is currently working towards her certification as a Compassionate Activist in trauma-informed care with Caring Essentials Collaborative.
Her strong sense of political influence brought her to join the Canadian Association of Neonatal Nurses’ Board of Directors in 2022.
Her main areas of interest are trauma-informed neuroprotective developmental care, neonatal abstinence syndrome, and the education of health care professionals related to the late-preterm, perinatal and pediatric population.
